Cook: Senate in Play

Charlie Cook is the most respected predictor of U.S. political outcomes currently practicing that arcane art. In his column for this week's National Journal, The Cook Report declares that while the GOP taking control of the Senate is still "fairly unlikely," it is no longer highly unlikely.

Cook provides a description of wave elections, elections where nearly everything up for grabs goes to one party. He suspects that 2010 looks much like one of these. Cook suggests that things are getting better for the GOP, worse for the Dems.
