Quote of the Day

Roger Cohen, writing for The New York Times, about the government melt-down in Tunisia:
There are going to have to be painful trade-offs if Tunisia is to demonstrate — finally — that nothing in the Arab genome means one dictator must follow another.
The character of that "genome" is in question. You have to wonder why there are no real multi-party democracies in the roughly 15 nations that make up the Arab world.
