A Disconnect

As I write this post two headlines from Matt Drudge's site tell an unhappy story. The first says only 34% support a tax hike to pay off the nation's debt, the link is to Rasmussen Reports here. BTW, 55% are opposed.

The second (and larger) headline says "Obama: 80% of Americans want higher taxes." That link is to The Hill.

The Free Dictionary defines this as a disconnect, that is "an unbridgeable disparity (as from a failure of understanding)." BTW, POTUS said his views were based on polling data, without citing sources.

Golly, do you suppose what we have here is yet another example of a politician lying? His lips were moving, what else could it be?
