More on Pakistan

Georgie Anne Geyer has been writing about foreign affairs for as long as I've been interested, which is several decades. In this article for Uexpress carried on Yahoo News, she takes a fresh look at the tangled relations between the U.S. and Pakistan.

Geyer never quite says alliances with Muslim nations don't work but implies they are problematic, which is obvious. There are a couple of facts in this article I've not seen before, concerning Section S of the ICI.

Always the sticking point with Pakistan is their nuclear weapons arsenal. Imagine a Pakistani meltdown in which some of those weapons end up in the hands of al-Qaida or other advocates of political Islam. Not a pretty picture.
