Sure, They're Sorry

People want Japan to say how sorry they are for their many "Greater East Asia Co-Prosperity Sphere" brutalities and abuses before and during World War II.  See a New York Times blog for an example of this sentiment.

It should be abundantly clear now, if it wasn't some years ago, Japan is mostly sorry they didn't win the war. The rest is window dressing. Briefly they had a fine empire but, like Peter Pumpkin Eater's wife, couldn't keep it, alas.

Hardly anybody who was an adult then still draws breath, it's time to move on.
