Chicago A War Zone

Mayor Rahm Emanuel has no handle on why there are so many murders in President Obama's hometown Chicago or what to do about it, see an article in RealClearPolitics for details.

First, what happened over the long 4th of July weekend:
It began on Thursday afternoon, and by the time the sun came up on Monday morning an astonishing 82 people had been shot, 14 of them fatally.
Then the city's statistics for all of 2014:
By the administration’s own tally, one person has been killed and five people have been shot, on average, every day this year in Chicago—and that was before the carnage over the Fourth of July weekend.
Parts of Chicago are more deadly than Kabul.
