Global Post and
The Washington Post both have articles reporting on the places where people have more cats than dogs, and vice versa. I find amazing that in neither article does the paper report that Islam views dogs as ritually unclean.
Few Muslims are likely to own indoor dogs, as the WaPo maps show. Islamic scholars say owning dogs for hunting or guarding is okay, but they are unlikely to be kept as pets.
