Review: Outlander

The DrsC have been watching the Outlander series on the Starz premium movie channel. It is relatively gruesome, dark and brutal, but a compelling as heck story of time travel.

A quick plot outline shouldn't constitute much of a spoiler. At war's end, a WW II combat nurse on a postponed honeymoon in the highlands touches a standing stone in a Stonehenge-like former dolmen and somehow gets transported back to the mid-1700s. She is taken on as a healer by Clan McKinsey, who wonder if she's a British spy and label her a sassenach or outlander, hence the title.

British drama is often excellent, this is no exception. If you have access to Starz, give Outlander a look.
