Wall Street Journal reporters Chester Dawson and Yoshio Takahashi, quoting Toyota President Akio Toyoda from a recent press conference:

Mr. Toyoda also said the company was "not ready" for non-Japanese executives on its board.

This from the President of the world's largest auto company; in a nutshell, Japan is very xenophobic. Our money is okay but we aren't.
