Demographics Aren't Destiny

William Galston, of the left-leaning Brookings Institution here writing for The New Republic, takes issue with the notion that demographics are on Obama's side. Galston writes that we must consider the issue of how these demographic groups now feel about Obama:
It’s clear that Obama’s margins are down—way down—not just among swing voters, but in the core of his coalition as well. Compounding the problem, the base’s enthusiasm and intensity have declined as well.
Galston's article is straight-forward and not overly technical.
