President Obama has been quoted on numerous occasions saying something like "If Republicans don't become more moderate they'll never again elect a president." Normally he says that when the GOP won't go along with something he wants passed.
Help me out here, why isn't that something about which Obama should be pleased? If he's correct, he should want the GOP to sit tight where it is, or become more radical so that he turns out to be the first of a long string of consecutive Democrat presidents.
Republicans think Obama is trying to jawbone them into agreeing with him, that he really doesn't believe what he is saying. And I agree. But many of the pundit class agree with him, their issue being demographic shifts in the U.S.
