Like Pol Pot's Khmer Rouge, the Islamic State (IS) in Syria and Iraq is murdering thousands. Unlike the Cambodians, IS hasn't had time to murder millions yet.
In retrospect I'm sure many feel the world should have stopped the Khmer Rouge. There is still time to interrupt the mass murder in the Islamic State, if anyone cares to do so. However, it appears IS will get the time they need to murder millions as nobody is even suggesting effective opposition at present.
Fox News reports voices in the Arab world are being raised against IS. They make the valid claim that IS behavior tars all Muslims with a reputation for brutality and inhumanity.
Unfortunately, "voices" won't stop IS, or even slow it down. Doing so will take guns, bombs, the sadly infamous boots on the ground, and a willingness to accommodate thousands desiring martyrdom, as Spengler noted here recently.
