COTTonLINE's favorite demographer, Joel Kotkin, has a new book coming out September 1. Entitled The New Class Conflict, it will be available via Amazon.
Kotkin chronicles the rise of two newly identified groups, the tech Oligarchs of Silicon Valley and the policy, media, and academic elites he calls the Clerisy. Both are doing well while the traditional heart of our society, the middle class he names the Yeomanry are hurting.
If you think you hear a bit of Middle Ages in these titles, it's no accident. Kotkin wonders if we're headed for a quasi-feudal arrangement. I look forward to reading this book.
