It is one month before the voting day for the Scotland independence referendum. "No" still outpolls "yes" by 55 to 45 percent according to The Scotsman.
Momentum, such as it is, lies with the pro-independence side. They've gained a couple of percentage points in the past month. At this rate, independence won't gain enough votes to pass, but may make it relatively close.
If it is very close, Tory PM Cameron should say to Scotland "close enough," and declare Scotland independent. Cutting loose the Scottish Labor vote should ensure Tory governments for England for the foreseeable future.
As a Francophone once said about the Quebec referenda in Canada, "You unionists have to win every time it comes to a vote, independence only needs to win once." The Brits don't need continuing drama from reluctant Northern counties.
