CNBC reports a study of the work attitudes of millennials, done by marketing firm DDB (formerly Doyle Dane Bernbach). Millennials are those aged 19-36.
The study finds millennials are more likely to believe themselves "workaholics," their bosses disagree. They are also much more willing than the two prior generations - Gen X and Boomers - to take credit for someone else's work if it would help them get ahead.
As the article notes, some of their ruthlessness may arise out of the scarcity of decent jobs in today's job market. Many college-educated millennials are involuntarily underemployed, a fact of which they are painfully aware.
COTTonLINE suspects admittedly ruthless millennials were "taking credit for someone else's work" when reporting they believed themselves workaholics, hoping to appear more valuable employees. Unfortunately for millennials, their bosses aren't taken in by the inflated self-evaluations.
