In comparison rankings, 29 percent responded that they trust Fox News the most. CNN follows with 22 percent, CBS News and NBC News are at 10 percent, ABC News at 8 percent and MSNBC at 7 percent. My translation, 55% of Americans trust Fox at least somewhat. That is greater than any other outlet. It is interesting that PBS wasn't included in the survey, we often watch their News Hour in spite of its liberal bias.
Asked whether they trust the journalistic coverage of each network, 20 percent said they do “a great deal” for Fox, and 35 percent said “somewhat.”
In another Politico article, Tom Bevan of RealClearPolitics writes something quite fascinating:
How many times have we heard someone say that Fox News and MSNBC are simply mirror images of each other? The numbers from the Quinnipiac poll show that comparison is wrong. One of the reasons Fox News keeps winning is that it has managed to build a solid reputation for its news coverage, one that extends beyond right-leaning viewers. And one of the reasons MSNBC keeps losing is that its programming – even during the daytime – has become so opinion driven that not even its fellow ideological travelers view it as a trustworthy source of news any more.Poor MSNBC, can you say "Obama apologist?"
