The Rosenbergs - Still Guilty, Still Dead

Ronald Radosh, writing in the Los Angeles Times, reports something that will feel like an echo from the distant past. Namely, that Julius and Ethel Rosenberg's friend and codefendant, Morton Sobell, has finally admitted something he stonewalled for over 50 years - that he and his friend Julius were in fact Soviet agents, traitors.

Radosh adds that the documents they passed on to their Red handlers were important secrets that ended up costing American lives in Korea and Vietnam. Plus information from the super-secret Manhattan Project that developed the atomic bomb.

We've been relatively certain of their guilt since the Soviet Union fell and KGB files implicated them. The confession by their 91 year old codefendant is the final nail in the coffin. Their execution was just punishment, and also served pour encourager les autres.
