Two Telling Statistics

Doyle McManus at The Los Angeles Times reports GOP insiders are changing their minds, they now believe Donald Trump could win their nomination, perhaps even the presidency.
A Quinnipiac University poll last month found that 30% of GOP voters had an unfavorable view of Trump — worse than most other candidates but a big improvement from the 52% that Trump scored in May.

In Iowa, where the first GOP contest is held, the percentage of likely Republican caucus-goers who say they could never vote for Trump has fallen from 58% in May to 29%, according to a Des Moines Register-Bloomberg News poll.
Trump is a heck of a salesman, and is apparently doing a good job selling himself to Republican primary voters. And McManus concludes:
Republican Party's grandees are glumly acknowledging that America's love affair with Trump is more than a summer romance — maybe a lot more.
The dude has a history of coming out of most fights a winner. Plus GOP voters really want a win, want to close the door on the whole ugly Obama ordeal, so ... maybe? Hat tip to RealClearPolitics for the link.
