Called to testify this morning before Sen. Rand Paul’s Senate committee, former Director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases Anthony Fauci “delivered a rant against Paul and then responded to all questions by pleading the Fifth Amendment," according to Power Line.

Most likely, what Fauci fears is not prosecution but embarrassment. The documents that have recently come out show pretty decisively that Fauci was a fraud who repeatedly misled the American people. I infer from his legal defense that he does not have good answers to the questions the senators would have posed.
