Brazil voted for President today and the conservative Flavio Bolsonaro bested the leftist Luiz Inacio Lula de Silva 47.24% to 44.81%. The polls had predicted Lula would come out ahead.
As neither got 50%, there will be a runoff on Oct. 25, which Bolsonaro is now expected to win. This suggests more Brazilian cooperation with the US and less with China and Russia.
