Steyn Back on Track

Mark Steyn has run through a flat spot in his writing career, but with the column cited below he appears to have regained his mojo. He turns a number of choice snarky phrases but my favorite is this one concerning the debt ceiling talks:
All the charade does is confirm to prudent analysts around the world that the depraved ruling class of the United States cannot self-correct, and, indeed, has no desire to.
When he is on his game, Steyn has the ability to cause you to simultaneously chuckle and gnash your teeth. Here is a scary Steyn factoid:
By 2020 all it will take to finance the Government of the United States is for the rest of the planet to be willing to sink 19 percent of its GDP into U.S. Treasury debt.
If you believe that will happen, I have a bridge in Brooklyn I'd like to sell you. Go see his column at The Orange County Register website.
