A Bad Practice

On Monday we wrote about University of Washington economists finding Seattle's new higher minimum wage is costing poor Washingtonians money. They're getting fewer jobs and fewer hours, and less money, not more. The City Council isn't happy with those findings.

Last night, I heard on TV (Fox News?) that the Seattle city council has hired a Berkeley economist, with a track record of "finding" higher minimum wages do no damage, to produce the desired answer to the question. "Shopping" for desired conclusions is a perversion of science, but so typical of cynical political malfeasance at all levels.
