Asked to respond to a Washington Post article claiming President Obama "choked" when faced with Russian meddling, Panetta replied:
I think when [Putin] conducted the cyber-attacks in the United States during the last election, he felt he could get away with it, without any kind of response.Let's be absolutely clear about who was president during the Russian interference in our election campaign, whose weakness Panetta was lamenting. It was Barack Hussein Obama, his former boss.
He's somebody who takes advantage of weakness, and if he senses weakness then he'll take advantage of it.
