A group of six men on a Southwest Airways flight to Chicago from San Diego got unruly with flight attendants, causing the pilot to divert to Amarillo. There law enforcement took them into custody.
Six other members of the group deplaned voluntarily in Amarillo. See the CBS News Chicago story for more. You have to read all the way to the bottom to discover all six had Middle Eastern names.
If a group of 12 young men with Middle Eastern names threatens violence to cabin attendants, it is suspicious. On the other hand, none of them was named any variant of Mohammad, peculiar in itself. And they wanted to order alcoholic drinks, not a Muslim thing to do.
Do you suppose they were a group of Coptic Christian Arabs who resented being stereotyped as terrorists? That is a real, albeit remote, possibility. More likely, they were a gang of some sort, acting out.
