A follow-up to yesterday’s slightly alarming post, the hospital released me and I’m home with an oxygen cannula and a couple of prescriptions. The conclusion was pneumonia, caught in the early stages.
My prognosis is good, if guarded because of advanced age and general cantankerousness. The IV antibiotics seem to have turned the corner. I’m still coughing, and have zip energy, but feel much better. I should mend in a week or two on home oxygen. Having diminished lung capacity at 6300 ft. is no joke.
Being tethered to a 30-40 ft. tube will keep me close to home, the other DrC will have to do the EVAs for awhile. I did the same for her several years ago when she got pneumonia coming home from a trip to Europe, her recovery took a month or more.
