Untruth in Labeling

Phil LeBeau writes about the motor vehicle industry for CNBC. Today his column has a misleading title affixed by LeBeau or some editor.
America is turning away from cars
If you read his column, the title should have been "America is turning away from sedans." His point is that we are switching to crossover utility vehicles, SUVs, and pickup trucks.

Why is this happening? LeBeau diplomatically suggests low gasoline prices, and the preferred vehicles' multipurpose handiness.

I'd add our expanding waistlines and aging population as reasons. Pickups and SUVs have more room inside, have chair-height seats and are thus easier to enter and exit for those who are (euphemism alert) generously proportioned and not as spry as previously.
