data from the
Gallup polling organization. The news for President Obama is virtually all bad. For example:
Sixty-two percent of Americans say they disapprove of the way Obama is handling immigration, and only 29 percent say they approve.
Gallup surveys thirteen different topics. The only item which a majority of the public approves of his handling is race relations. Less than a majority approve of his handling of the other 12 and a majority of respondents actually disapprove of his handling of eight of them:
These include the federal budget deficit (64 percent), immigration (62 percent), the economy (59 percent), healthcare policy (57 percent), the situation in Afghanistan (57 percent), taxes (54 percent), the situation in Iraq (53 percent) and the environment (51 percent).
Ironically, those disapproving of Obama's handling of the immigration issue are on both his right and left. Hispanics fault him for failing to provide amnesty for illegal immigrants while most others fault him for failing to curb illegal immigration.
