Lawrence Eagleburger, former secretary of state under President George H.W. Bush (aka Bush 1), has died at age 80. He had a distinguished career as a diplomat, and is the only foreign service officer to rise to secretary of state. See this

I find it odd the article didn't mention Eagleburger was a protege of Dr. Henry Kissinger. Kissinger was secretary of state in the Nixon administration and the best foreign policy mind of the past century.
