Two academics have done a study looking at weather and relating that to parade attendance and subsequent political orientation. Hmmm. I suspect Independence Day parade attendance has much more to do with parent's patriotism, associated with the right in recent decades.
It may even have to do with in which part of the country you live. Oh, well, even if the causality is bogus, the parade is still fun. My source is The Week, reported in Yahoo News.
