Weird Pediatric Science

The National Bureau of Economic Research reports the results of a study into higher-than-expected infant mortality in the U. S. relative to other developed countries.
Infants born to white, college-educated, married U.S. mothers have similar mortality to advantaged women in Europe. Our results suggest that high mortality in less advantaged groups in the postneonatal period is an important contributor to the U.S. infant mortality disadvantage.
Perhaps as Europe gets more Third World immigrants the disparity will vanish.
