Marxism is founded to an extraordinary degree on the absolving power of good intentions.Consider, all the times you’ve watched socialist and communist regimes do things which failed to accomplish their goals and left their people worse off than previously. Said failures were excused because the regime’s intent was to do good.
Stumbling Chavismo in Venezuela is only the most recent example. It is basically a replay of the serial failures of the Castro brothers in Cuba. All, it is claimed, done with the very best of intentions, for “the good of the people.”
