Writing in Politico, Alan Greenblatt argues Hillary is running as a liberal, exactly what husband Bill ran against when he sought the Democratic nomination. Bill ran, and governed, as a New Democrat, which meant centrist, not extreme.
Greenblatt reminds us that the earlier Clinton regime included welfare reform and "the era of big government is over." Conservative pundits have observed, correctly as it turns out, Democrats have moved to the left more than Republicans have moved right. The article claims this is a response to their changing coalition, now more urban and less white than during Bill's terms in office.
