The Washington Post reports what many of us have suspected: none of the Democrats running, particularly Clinton, will be able to mobilize minority voters as Obama did, twice. Assuming this causes Democrats to lose in 2016, will the loss motivate the party to nominate only minority candidates for national office in the elections beyond 2016?
If 2016 is the last time Democrats nominate a white for national office, we may be seeing the next stage of development in identity group politics more or less in-embryo, that is, before it is widely understood to be happening. COTTonLINE senses a drift in the direction of "tribal" parties based on ethnicity and race, a trend about which few except race hustlers are especially happy.
