Lying with statistics. CNBC reports the CDC claims "About 78% of people who have been hospitalized, needed a ventilator or died from Covid-19 have been overweight or obese." Then they add that 42% of Americans are obese. Add in the almost-obese whom they call "overweight" and you are close to 3/4 of the population.
Analysis: The percentage of obese and overweight Covid hospital patients is roughly the same as the percentage of obese and overweight Americans. In other words, it is a non-story, as 'interesting' as the claim that nearly 100% of those admitted to a hospital have a pulse.
