Another Perspective

The Weekly Standard's Jonathan V. Last doesn't much like Trump, so he writes:
There's more evidence of Trump weakness if you look closely: Why did he lose Oklahoma? Because it's the only state where the vote was restricted to actual Republicans. Which further bolsters the case that Trump is not leading a revolt from within the party, but staging a hostile takeover of it.
Last gives you the glass-half-empty version. The glass-half-full version is that Trump is growing the party, bringing aboard people who, in the past, didn't vote or voted Democrat.

For a party that routinely has fewer registrants than the Democrats, adding new people is no bad thing. Stealing people from the Democrats is an even better ploy in the zero-sum game that is American party politics.
