It has been reported that at least one high (but conveniently unnamed) official in the Obama administration has labeled Israeli Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu a "chickenshit," meaning coward. As the Chicago Sun-Times comments, this was a seriously stupid thing to say, both inaccurate and boorish.
Had the unnamed apparatchik called his boss that unlovely name, he would have been accurate, but out of a job. Had a cabinet officer in Netanyahu's government said that of Obama it would have been crude, but at least descriptive. Netanyahu's people have kept such observations to themselves, showing admirable restraint.
Hostility toward Jews among American blacks is no new thing. You all remember the Rev. Jesse Jackson famously calling New York City "Hymietown."
