Reuters reports the Pew Research Center's Religious Landscape Study finds that Americans are becoming less religious, a change particularly visible among the young. This happened some years ago in Europe, which is routinely described as "post-Christian."
Seven of every 25 Democrats report no religious affiliation, compared with 7 of every 50 Republicans. That is, Democrats were twice as likely to report no affiliation.
In the words of Paul Simon, religious life is just "slip, slip slidin' away." In the developed countries where this is true, birthrates are also dropping below replacement ... coincidence? I think not. Hat tip to Drudge Report for the link.
