Washington Monthly has an article bragging the US is having less crime and incarceration, with prison populations down. The three authors allege there is truly less crime happening. Perhaps honest investigators will conclude they are correct, I have doubts.
What is lacking is an explanation of why nearly weekly we read about people with long rap sheets who have walked free and are then apprehended for this or that horrific act.
I believe we are seeing the result of Soros-supported prosecutors and district attorneys choosing to charge far fewer individuals for the same level of crime. They ignore or turn loose on the community many police-apprehended offenders - often mentally ill - who should be separated from society until old age renders them harmless.
The buzzword for this dereliction of duty is "suicidal empathy." The real victims in this scenario are you and me, the law-abiding citizenry. We deserve better from our government.
