Any number of Democrats and #NeverTrump Republicans have said of Donald Trump: "That's not who we are." Fair enough, I presume they know their own minds.
My question: what will they do if he wins in November? That would prove he is "who we are," would it not? It would prove a majority of American voters heard Trump out and said: "Yes, I agree with most of that."
Will all, or even most of those who disassociated themselves with the nationalist Trump message self-deport, to use Mitt Romney's felicitous phrase? Losing sides talk a good game of emigrating out of pique, they rarely follow through, rarely vote with their feet.
Did you notice photos of the rioters in San Jose showed they were all Hispanic? Many were gang members too. Those photos make a border wall look needed. Every time demonstrators at Trump rallies wave the Mexican flag, they win votes for Trump and his wall.
