I call your attention to a long column at JAG on the subject of how to defeat Islamic terrorism, entitled "Enhanced Whack-A-Mole: An Anti-Terror Strategy for Trump." Long-time COTTonLINE readers know we've advocated, in less elaborately reasoned form, something similar.
We've written the U.S. isn't much good at nation-building, but is darned effective in destroying things. To the extent that a group or regime becomes a pain-in-the-backside to us and the rest of the civilized world, we should whack it - not try to turn it into a Jeffersonian democracy - but merely destroy that which they find useful, and a number of them in the process. Then leave with the promise that, if the problem recurs, to quote the Terminator, "We'll be baaaaack."
Serious readers should see Miss Peggy's WSJ column and then take a look at the Journal of American Greatness, which I believe aspires to be a sort of virtual think-tank for Trumpism, broadly defined as an America-first approach to policies foreign and domestic.
