The Daily Wire reports a story also being covered elsewhere, it concerns two U.S. Navy sailors arrested on charges of espionage for China. Their names - Jinchao Wei and Wenheng Zhao - strongly suggest they are ethnic Chinese.
The amounts they were each paid, while thousands of dollars, were relatively modest amounts. more like expense money than outright bribery. Presumably the two were either immigrants with green cards or citizens.
The press is being very cautious about reporting the extent to which ethnic Chinese resident in the U.S. have been charged with espionage. A quick web search turned up pages of items reporting individuals with Chinese names being charged with spying. Try it yourself to see what comes up. It might be wise to assign at-risk individuals to career tasks which do not involve secrets.
Heretical thoughts: (1) Maybe FDR wasn't being unrealistic with the internment of Japanese during World War Two. (2) We should make more of the things we need, buy less from China, and accept fewer Chinese immigrants.
Later ... The AP reports one of the men - Jinchao Wei - became a naturalized citizen while he was spying for China.
