If you like demographics, The Hill has an article for you. It reports that, among high school seniors who express a political leaning, the fellows are moving right and the gals are moving left. I interpret this to mean the split we find in the voting of adult men and women begins as soon as political awareness does. Key quote:

To be fair, many high school students express little interest in politics either left or right. Many cannot yet vote and a substantial fraction of those who are eligible fail to exercise the option.
N.B.,The article makes an implicit assumption of two genders. One supposes nearly all of the neurotic “other genders” lean Democratic.
