Ruy Teixeira writes that his Democrats won’t recognize their cultural stances aren’t flying with much of the populace. Their pols are fearful of “the groups” - advocacy cheerleaders for the various victim cohorts - which unload on any Democrats who dares to say the party’s extreme cultural positions are a turn-off to the electorate.
As a Republican, I couldn’t be happier with this state of affairs. I won’t be even a little disappointed if it continues. In my long life I saw the Dims do this once before, in the McGovern era, and it was very helpful. A replay of that disconnect with the values of Joe and Jill Sixpack should be encouraged and abetted.
