This article has video of the National Zoo's two pandas playing in the snow. It is entirely charming, they act like human children in panda suits.
It is very clear this behavior is "play" in the human sense. Something done because it is fun, and for no other reason.
The mountainous region where pandas are native gets winter snow on a regular basis. We don't think of bamboo growing where it snows, but it's what they eat. Hat tip to Lucianne.com for the link.
