Wall Street Journal article about the problems in dealing with Iran. As the article points out, when Iran acts like a nation state, it can negotiate reasonable deals with others. However, when it acts like the headquarters of a world-wide
Shia-led revolution, it is not amenable to negotiated deals.
Mr. Ahmadinejad is talking about changing the destiny of mankind, while Mr. Obama and his foreign policy experts offer spare parts for Boeings or membership in the World Trade Organization.
The bottom line here is that
Obama is wrong; you really cannot talk to Iran about the major things that matter to the U.S.
