About the British election held today, I've written that 326 seats in Commons are required for an absolute majority. It turns out this isn't exactly true, as it happens. See what Reuters reports via Yahoo News.

In practice, controlling 323 seats in parliament is enough to command a majority as four lawmakers from Northern Ireland's Sinn Fein refuse to take their places.

That's because the four represent Catholic voters who believe Northern Ireland should be part of the Republic of Ireland, not part of the United Kingdom.
