The reliably left-wing New Republic posts an article with this fatuous title:
Don’t Let Anyone Tell You the January 6 Hearings Don’t Matter
How "fatuous" you might well ask? The answer is that they matter only to those who will, regardless of nominee, vote for Democrats in November and again two years from now. No minds will be changed, no candidacies will be furthered or hindered.
The hearings on TV will be a highly partisan pep rally for those Democrats who bother to watch. The hearings may have some marginal political value. Politics being “show business for ugly people,” I predict most Ds will not tune in to watch the ugly people perform.
If Pelosi & Co. want to prove that Trump is no graceful loser, they’ll only prove what everyone already knows - he isn’t. And yet for all his “warts” his presidency was a success and this current one is a failure where it counts, in our everyday lives, at the grocery store or gas pump.
