A New York Times article brings good news on immigration policy. Apparently the House GOP leadership, who tend to be squishy on the amnesty issue, finally decided to listen to us out here in the grass roots.
Rank and file Republicans overwhelmingly oppose amnesty in any form for illegal immigrants. The immigration bill the House passed before leaving for the summer break reflects the opinions of the grass roots.
If you want to know to whom to direct your gratitude, thank Mo Brooks (R-AL), Raul Labrador (R-ID), Louie Gohmert (R-TX), and Michele Bachmann (R-MN). Speaker Boehner, et al, finally let them shape the bill that passed.
