The DOJ Special Counsel Robert Hur has issued his findings after looking into the issue of Joe Biden unlawfully storing classified documents at his home in Delaware. He basically finds Biden too shot down to be prosecuted. Scott Johnson of Power Line has some key quotes from Hur's report.
Biden’s memory also appeared to have significant limitations.
He did not remember, even within several years, when his son Beau died. And his memory appeared hazy when describing the Afghanistan debate that was once so important to him.
We have also considered that, at trial, Mr. Biden would likely present himself to a jury, as he did during our interview of him, as a sympathetic, well-meaning, elderly man with a poor memory.
He did not remember when he was vice president, forgetting on the first day of the interview when his term ended (‘if it was 2013 — when did I stop being Vice President?’), and forgetting on the second day of the interview when his term began (‘in 2009, am I still Vice President?’).
Johnson concludes, "Biden is increasingly ripe for institutionalization of the Memory Care variety."
I disagree, Joe's just another old gaffer with a spotty memory, a BSer who never let the truth get in the way of a good story. Absent the pressures of the presidency, he'll be okay pottering around home for 2-3 more years, driving Secret Service agents crazy.
Needless to say, he isn't up to being POTUS, he probably wasn't when elected. I wonder if his Party will use this report as the fig leaf needed to replace him as their 2024 nominee?
