Washington's 'Demise' Mourned

Y'all gotta love the headline of a Politico report of the John McCain funeral.
Washington Mourns John McCain -- And Its Own Demise Under Trump
Meanwhile Susan Glasser of the New Yorker called the McCain funeral:
The biggest resistance meeting yet.
McCain's funeral attracted exactly this sort of coven, he was one of the top five Trump haters in Washington. I feel sorry for VP Mike Pence who was sent to represent the Administration, he received glares from all sides.

Swamp critters gotta be sad when it starts to dry up in their boggy home. When they start out to show the new President supposedly colluded with Russians and find instead multiple cases of malfeasance by top DOJ and FBI officials, everyone of 'em an anti-Trump Democrat.

These officials believed when Ms. Clinton won they'd be rewarded for giving her an underhanded assist. The cost of guessing wrong has been sky high for several former swamp denizens, and will likely be as bad for several more when the FISA documents are declassified.

It will be years before the FBI regains the public's trust, if in fact they make the effort. Right now I'd put their once-stellar reputation equal to (or below) that of the DEA and ATF, maybe even lower than the hapless Secret Service. As a well-known elected official likes to say, it’s sad.

Much of bureaucratic Washington takes the same appalled view of Trump that pro-Hoover (Herbert, not J. Edgar) Republicans took of FDR. It's for the same reason too, his utter disregard for their SOPs, beliefs and shibboleths.
